What is the definition of a "Manimal?"

“Manimal” combines the mind of man with the power of nature. We believe in a “civilized savage” approach to fitness, eating, and lifestyle fitness.

Where/When does the retreat take place?

Typically three times a year in Cold Spring, New York. Contact us to be informed of the next class.

How will I do my laundry?

We will have a washer and dryer on premises that is open for use.

How will the trainers track my progress?

We measure each participant across a wide measure of metrics, including weight, BMI, and grip strength. We take measurements before and after the training.

I'm totally out of shape. Can I still participate in this program?

We actually specialize in a come-back story. If you haven’t worked out in a while – or ever – Manimal is for you!

I'm on a special diet. Do I have to alter my food plans to your specifications?

Please let us know if you have any additional food restrictions.

Is the bootcamp just for men?

Of course not; women are savages too!

(Have you ever watched a National Geographic African safari? Most of the time it’s the female lion that does all the hunting). Ha!

What does the typical day look like?

3 meals a day, 3 workouts a day, with instruction, nature walks, breakout sessions, recovery, and optional pool time in between.

What should I pack?

Only the essentials. We recommend a towel, three changes of clothes, and a journal. Food will be provided.

Do I need to fully disconnect from the grid?

You may elect to “go native” and turn off your cellphone for two days, giving you time to connect to yourself. However, there are plenty of electrical plugs in the room, as well as WiFi in the house.

Is it possible to work while I am participating in the program?

The two day program is designed to push and challenge each participant. You will be tired by the end of the day. We urge you to leave the work laptop at home.
